2) Where is the  film set and  what period?

In Belarus in the  second Worl War.

3) Short summary of the plot

It is August 1941 and Nazi forces are sweeping through Eastern Europe, targeting Jewish people. Among the survivors not killed or restricted to ghettoes are the Bielski brothers, who are Jews: Tuvia, Zus, Asael , and Aron. Their parents are dead, slain by the local police under orders from the occupying Germans. The brothers flee to the forest, vowing to avenge their parents. They encounter other Jewish escapees hiding in the forest and the brothers take them under their protection and leadership. Over the next year, they shelter a growing number of refugees, raiding local farms for food and supplies, moving their camp whenever they are discovered by the collaborating police.

4) The music: does it convey specific  themes/messages?

The  music completes the entire athmosphere of the movie without  having a  leading song.

5)What is the  message of the  film and what  did  you learn from it?

I thought the message  of the movie was to fight  for  one’s beliefs  and also one  of  the strongest  idea  is the  humbleness  of the  brothers  who did  not  seek any recognition for what they did, and that the descendants of the people they saved now number in the tens of thousands.

6) Things  that particularly  impressed you about the  film.

I was  particularly  impressed  that  while in the  forest, the  families and all the Jews kept  their  traditions and there  were even weddings and chilndren’s  blessings.

7) What would you change in the  film?

Probably  I would take some violent  scenes  out  and  emphasize the  fact that people go on with their  lives  even in hard times .
